An earlier kick-off at Calverton meant an earlier start for the travelling Long Eaton team and supporters. Long Eaton received a warm welcome from the Calverton MW team manager and supporters.

The game kicked off with Long Eaton producing some of their best football of the season so far. The passing moves throughout the team were tremendous with Long Eaton battling and creating chances against a very competent Calverton team.

With 19 minutes gone and Long Eaton unable to turn all their quality play into goals, Calverton MW delivered a sucker punch from their first real opportunity of the game. Long Eaton did not let their heads go down, they kept to the task, believing in themselves and driven on by the enthusiastic supporters. Just before half-time, Long Eaton got their reward for all their good play through Owen scoring a fantastic goal from distance to square the game and set things up nicely for an exciting second half.

Half time score 1 v 1.

Long Eaton United U12A v Arnold Town 14/10/2007
Long Eaton U12s 100% winning start to the season came to an end on Sunday when they were held to a 1-1 draw by Arnold.

Long Eaton kicked off and started well producing some good passing football but Arnold were a well organised side and coped well with the Long Eaton attacks and created some good football themselves and deservedly took the lead on 15 mins when Sleigh prodded the ball home from a corner. Both sides cancelled each other out and shots on goal were minimal with Long Eatons make-shift defence of Olly, Joe & Man of the Match Kyle outstanding.

Long Eaton levelled things up 5 mins before half time when the Arnold keeper could only parry a shot from Jason straight to Charlie who made no mistake from 6 yards.

HALF TIME: Long Eaton Utd 1-1 Arnold Town.

The second half was a carbon copy of the first with both sides playing good football but cancelling each other out. It wasn't untill with 5 mins remaining the game burst into life with L.Es Alex hitting the Arnold crossbar and L.Es keeper Arron producing a great save in the final minute to keep the scores level. It was a fair result from 2 well organised teams.

FINAL SCORE: Long Eato Utd 1-1 Arnold Town.
