George & Ashley (Defence)
Owen (Centre midfield)
Ben (Left Wing/midfield)

There was an air of expectation surrounding this fixture as Long Eaton was looking to get back to winning ways following their last two drawn games.
As always the support for both teams was tremendous.
Hucknall Harriers kicked off with purpose heading for the Long Eaton goal but the move was broke down almost immediately by a timely interception. Long Eaton broke from their own half, passing the ball swiftly to Euan who took his early opportunity superbly. The goal was timed at 26 seconds.
Two minutes later, Ben scored his first goal of the season with a close range effort. Long Eaton was beginning to dominate with strong performances from all players. Gaining in confidence from their early goals Ben scored his second on ten minutes. Samuel then made it four on nineteen minutes, Ethan scored a left footer a minute later to make it five and Euan made it six just before half time.
Long Eaton was being allowed to pass the ball around and they looked unstoppable. All credit to Hucknall Harriers, they kept working hard and they do have some good individual players but they were not playing as a team.
Half time score 6 v 0.
The second half opened much the same as the first with Long Eaton scoring in the first minute with a fantastic strike from Samuel. Three minutes later Euan scored again for his hat-trick. Hucknall Harriers had now upped their play and created chances for themselves, unfortunately for them they were either wide of the goal or saved by Nathan. Three minutes from time Euran made is forth goal to complete and excellent individual striker’s performance. Hucknall never gave up and battled to the end, their heads never went down for one moment, we wish them well for the rest of the season.
Final Score 9 v 0.
In summary, Long Eaton was dominant in this game, with a superb display of passing and finishing and more of the battling qualities already shown this season. Nathan in goal looked confident following on from his performance against Attenborough. The defenders continue to read the game and work well together. The midfield, wingers and strikers also performing very well to give a good all round team performance and well deserved win.

Long Eaton United u9 Blue v Burton Joyce u9 29/9/2007 |
On a nice bright morning the match started a little late due to Burton lads getting stuck in traffic. Again from the onset this was going to be another tough game, and it wasn’t long before Burton’s big central midfielder had a wild crack at the ball and it screamed into the top corner with Lewis having no chance, 0-1 to Burton Joyce. this spurred on Long Eaton with Sam & Stephen trying hard to gee up the side, with Sam making some telling headers and Stephen making his usual runs.
Jacko was making some headway down the left flank and Bradley pushing hard down the right. Liam was having a tough job marking there big midfielder, mind you they had several really big guys, who were able to knock us off the ball easily.
Ben was trying his best to hold up the ball to bring other lads into play…but again, the big guys were really telling today. we had a break with a corner, and as we had been practising front post/back post tactics it was really good to see a good corner from Brad and it was met at the back post by Stephen to slot it away, 1-1.This is how it stayed till half time, with Long Eaton still in the game.
Half Time: 1-1
Second half again, put Long Eaton under pressure, and another good shot from Burton from quite deep blasted into the bottom corner,1-2 to Burton. More pressure from Burton induced a mistake at the back, 1-3 to Buton Joyce. Long Eaton tried to push on, with William, Matthew, and Joe coming on, but all to no avail…
Final Score 1-3 to Burton Joyce.
These big sides are always giving us problems, we appear now to be the smallest side in the league, but we never gave up & our passing game could be the best in the league. This will help the whole team for the future. There was times when our football was excellent, but, again, we are going to have to toughen up and try to hang onto the ball & make effective tackles.
Man of the Match Stephen

It was a beautiful morning for the away game against Attenborough Colts , who have won all three of their first games of this season and with Long Eaton winning two and drawing one, the game was set to be quite a tense affair.

There were hard battles being fought in all areas of the pitch and chances were few and far between with Attenborough Colts probably just edging the first half with one shot hitting the bar.

Long Eaton United U12A v Bestwood Park Rangers - 30/9/2007 |
Long Eaton U12's maintained their 100% winning start to the season with a 3 – 2 win at Bestwood.
They started the game with their usual attacking formation and this proved once again a success as within 1 minute from the start Alex E opened the scoring when he beat the keeper with a right foot shot just inside the near post. Both sides seemed to cancel each other out, with shots on goal being saved by both keepers and superb defending making the scoreline remaining at 1 – 0.
HALF TIME BESTWOOD 0 - 1 LONG EATON UTD
The second half started similar to the first with this time Bestwood on the attack and deservedly equalised within 5 mintues. Lee beat the offside trap and ran through to tuck the ball past the oncoming keeper. This seemed to inspire Long Eaton, when 5 minutes Kieran made it 2 -1 after a good flowing move involving 5 players creating Kieran the chance to fire past the keeper.
Both teams played good attacking football, creating plenty of chances, but Long Eaton went further ahead when Charlie burst clear of the defence to drive the ball home making it 3 – 1. Bestwood made it an exciting finish as in the final minute they pulled a goal back through G Mitchell but Long Eaton’s defence held out for a deserved victory.
Man of the Match was Aaron, after his stunning performance in the Long Eaton goal.
FINAL SCORE BESTWOOD 2 – 3 LONG EATON UTD
