George & Ashley (Defence)
Owen (Centre midfield)
Ben (Left Wing/midfield)
Samuel (Right Wing/midfield)
Euan (Striker)
Leon & Ethan (Subs)

There was an air of expectation surrounding this fixture as Long Eaton was looking to get back to winning ways following their last two drawn games.

As always the support for both teams was tremendous.

Hucknall Harriers kicked off with purpose heading for the Long Eaton goal but the move was broke down almost immediately by a timely interception. Long Eaton broke from their own half, passing the ball swiftly to Euan who took his early opportunity superbly. The goal was timed at 26 seconds.

Two minutes later, Ben scored his first goal of the season with a close range effort. Long Eaton was beginning to dominate with strong performances from all players. Gaining in confidence from their early goals Ben scored his second on ten minutes. Samuel then made it four on nineteen minutes, Ethan scored a left footer a minute later to make it five and Euan made it six just before half time.

Long Eaton was being allowed to pass the ball around and they looked unstoppable. All credit to Hucknall Harriers, they kept working hard and they do have some good individual players but they were not playing as a team.

Half time score 6 v 0.

The second half opened much the same as the first with Long Eaton scoring in the first minute with a fantastic strike from Samuel. Three minutes later Euan scored again for his hat-trick. Hucknall Harriers had now upped their play and created chances for themselves, unfortunately for them they were either wide of the goal or saved by Nathan. Three minutes from time Euran made is forth goal to complete and excellent individual striker’s performance. Hucknall never gave up and battled to the end, their heads never went down for one moment, we wish them well for the rest of the season.

Final Score 9 v 0.

In summary, Long Eaton was dominant in this game, with a superb display of passing and finishing and more of the battling qualities already shown this season. Nathan in goal looked confident following on from his performance against Attenborough. The defenders continue to read the game and work well together. The midfield, wingers and strikers also performing very well to give a good all round team performance and well deserved win.
